INGUSHETIA – Police tonight (at around 21:00) found a homemade bomb in the Nasyr-Kortsky municipal okrug of Nazran on Tutayeva Street.



05-May-2008 Morning and Afternoon Attacks Wound More Servicemen

INGUSHETIA – For the second time today, militants have wounded military servicemen in attacks on military convoys.  This afternoon’s attack took place on the road between the villages of Yandare and Surkhkhi in the Nazranovsky District. Three shooters reportedly carried out the attack, then fled in two vehicles (an UAZ 452 and a Niva), but soon abandoned them and fled on foot into the forest.

CHECHNYA – Dmitry Kuzetsov, an inspector of the GIBDD road patrol service for the Lakhdenpokhsky ROVD, Karelskaya Oblast, on assignment to Chechnya, died last night after a sniper’s bullet penetrated the windshield of the car he was driving and went into his heart.

CHECHNYA – Police report that yesterday a former NVF “accomplice” to two illegal armed formations voluntarily surrendered in the Kurchaloisky District.    The 24-year-old district resident told investigators that in the fall and winter of 2001 he served as an “accomplice” to NVFs commanded by Abubakarov and Gatayev.

CHECHNYA – The republic’s presidential press service announced today that an anti-terror training exercise is underway in the village of Tsentoroi, President Kadyrov’s hometown.  It is being observed by the president himself, State Duma Deputy Adam Delimkhanov, and Interior Minister Ruslan Alkhanov.

CITY OF KROPOTKIN – A resident of the city of Kropotkin told police today that he found two RGD-5 grenades attached to his car after hearing a rattling sound under his car.  The grenades were found under the man’s VAZ-2114 car a 13:30 today after the man arrived at the Kubana airport.

INGUSHETIA – At 04:00 on 23 April unknown gunmen shot up a two story building housing the stores “Eldorado” and “Ruslan” at house No. 72, Oskanova Street in Nazran.  Both stores are owned by a 53-year-old man identified as Aushyev. No one was hurt.

24-Apr-2008 Cash for Arms Program Yields Results

Aburakhman Muminov gave police an OZM-72 anti-personnel mine, 18 grenades, 5000 rounds of ammunition and 55 projectiles to a shoulder fired grenade launcher. The 42-year-old man said he had found the cache in 1999 in a field not far from Botlikh, Botlikhsky District.

 



23-Apr-2008 Kabardino-Balkaria Announces Fresh “Wanted” list

KABARDINO-BALKARIA – Thirty-one NVF members (including 11 who participated in the October 2005 on Nalchik) and the former director of the Kabardino-Balkaria Institute of Islamic Research, Ruslan Nukhushev, have again been put of Russia’s “Wanted” list.

DAGESTAN – At 12:00 today, police in the settlement of Gimry, Untsukulsky District, found a hidden bunker which had recently been occupied by members of the NVF commanded by Ibragim Gadzhidadayev. RETWA readers will recall that Gadzhidadayev has been wanted for the murder of Peoples Assembly Deputy Gazimagomed Magomedov (Gimrinsky District) since December 2007.

INGUSHETIA – The body of the policeman from northern Russia thought to have been kidnapped several days ago has been found near the village of Galashki in the Sunzhensky District.  “The body was found in a forested ravine during a search of the area conducted by MVD Ingushetia and North Ossetia personnel,” an MVD Ingushetia spokesman told Interfax  today.

17-Apr-2008 Terrorism Responsible For Gas Pipeline Explosion

CHECHNYA – Terrorism is attributed to an early Wednesday morning explosion of a gas pipeline in Grozny which killed a Interior Ministry Troops serviceman and wounded another.    Later reporting indicated that both died.  They have been identified as a unit deputy commander, 20-year-old Sergeant Ryazantsyev and his colleague 19-year-old Kalachyev.

SOCHI Police tonight are searching for two young men, 25-30-years-of-age,  suspected bombing a movie theater in the Lazaryevsky District of the oblast.  One suspect is described as being 165-175 centimeters in height, middle build, light colored short hair, dresse in a camouflage jacket  and dark pants.  The second  suspect is believed to be 175-180 centimeters tall, medium build, dressed in a black jacket, dark pants, boots or shoes.

11-Apr-2008 Two NVF “Accomplices” Arrested

CHECHNYA IA Regnum reports that two NVF “accomplices were arrested today.  An unidentified 47-year-old resident of Belgatoi, Shalinsky Disrict, was taken into custody today at around 12:00 by police and Interior Ministry Troops’ personnel.  According to investigators, from March 2000 until January 2002, the suspect provided food and medicine to fighters belonging to the NVF commanded by Movsayev.

MOSCOW – Investigators are now saying that the 4 April 2008 explosion of Koroleva Street in Moscow may have been a terror attack.  The Investigative Committee with the Procurator’s office for the North-Western Okrug of Moscow, Sergey Frolov, made that announcement today.  Investigation into the explosion continues.



11-Apr-2008 Skinheads Stab Ingushetian Man  

MOSCOW – On 7 April at 21:30, a group of “skinheads” attacked and killed a 24-year-old Ingushetian man near the “Vykhino” metro station.  According to police, the victim identified as Bashir Oziyev died from a knife stab wound in the back.  His friend, managed to take the knife from the stabber and wound two of the attackers, causing the rest to flee.

CHECHNYA - On the night of 3 April a group of 10-15 armed men entered the village of Yandi-Kotar, Achkoi-Martanovsky District.  According to a resident, the men went door-to-door to confirm whether the homes’ occupants were civilians or policemen.  Finding no policemen, they left the village.
